Smart Waste is the waste app in the urbanOS ecosystem: sensors give you full control over every bin plus deep analytics — as a control layer over your existing route system, or with its own route optimization. Live, predictive, exportable. Integrations and extensions are always possible.

Emptying empty bins costs money.

Fixed collection schedules visit every bin including the half-empty ones. With full control over real fill levels and the right analytics you cut kilometres, hours and CO₂ as oversight for your existing route system or with its own optimization.

A fixed schedule visits all 20 bins, however full they are. Smart Waste knows the fill level of each one and sends the vehicle only to the bins that are full — or, according to the AI forecast, about to be.

Because the route adapts daily to real fill levels and forecasts, a rigid duty becomes demand-driven collection — shorter runs, fewer empty trips, no overflowing bins.

The right sensor for every bin.

Smart Waste supports several sensor types — you choose what fits the container. All of them measure fill level only, no personal data.

Ultrasonic distance

The UDS-HKT LoRaWAN ultrasonic sensor measures the distance to the surface — and with it the fill level. Robust, low-maintenance, for most containers.

Weight

Weight sensors capture the actual load in the container — ideal where volume is misleading, e.g. for heavy or compacted waste.

Liquid level

Level sensors such as the Teneo measure liquid levels — for containers where ultrasonic reaches its limits.
