Yes. All data is processed and hosted exclusively in Germany, GDPR-compliant and ISO-certified. Data sovereignty stays fully with you: your data belongs to you, can be exported at any time and is never used for third-party purposes. urbanOS is developed by dataMatters GmbH in Cologne.

urbanOS is sensor-agnostic and supports LoRaWAN (including Helium roaming across roughly 77,000 gateways), NB-IoT and LTE. More than 20 sensor types are ready to deploy — fill-level, soil-moisture and water-level sensors, CO₂, particulate-matter and noise sensors, parking sensors, people counters and weather stations. Existing sensors can be connected too.

In days, not months. Thanks to LoRaWAN roaming you can start without your own gateways; sensors, connectivity and dashboards arrive ready to use from a single source. Selected municipalities and counties can additionally apply for the free 9-month Sofortprogramm with loaner gateways, sensors at cost price and a dedicated success manager.

Yes. urbanOS is built on open standards and interfaces: data can be exported as GeoJSON or GPX, processed via API and integrated into existing specialist systems. Existing LoRaWAN networks and sensors can continue to be used — there is no vendor lock-in.
